General Tips

  1. Shampooing regularly will help prevent cradle cap.
  2. The following tips will prevent tears while washing baby's hair:
    1. Fill a container with water , have child look up, then pour over child's head
    2. Fold a washcloth & place over baby's eyes
    3. Use handheld shower sprayer and have child look up
  3. Water bottles or a wet comb are great ways to control baby's hair.
  4. Do not cut cowlicks; don't fight them; as hair gets longer they get easier to manage.
  5. If you need to trim hair out of baby's eyes before the "first" haircut, wet hair; this will make it easier for you.
  6. Remember hair shrinks when it dries, so leave bangs longer than you think they should be.
  7. Only trim what you need to. Leave the rest for that special first Baby Locks cut.
  8. Hats are great to protect your baby's head from the sun.
  9. Barrettes or soft bands are excellent to keep hair out of eyes for girls.
